About Donna


Donna L. McNellis, M.A. is a preschool director and teacher, professor, facilitator, parent and grandparent. A truly captivating speaker and dynamic consultant, Ms. McNellis brings over 35 years of experience to her presentations.
 

Donna’s passion for early childhood education, early literacy, and the Fine Arts shape her presentations, and her extensive education and training ground her workshops in the latest research and learning outcomes. Donna’s most requested topic, The Fine Arts of Literacy, combines the Theory of Multiple Intelligences and early literacy research with the fine arts to create a truly inspirational presentation.
 
In addition to The Fine Arts of Literacy, Donna provides customized professional development presentations and designs and leads insightful, team-building staff retreats. Her staff retreat leadership truly inspires participants to grow in their capabilities and passion for their work. Donna also presents, "Raising Self-Esteem through Discipline" and many popular parenting workshops.
  

Receiving rave reviews nationally and internationally, Donna was selected to present her Fine Arts of Literacy workshop at the Oxford Roundtable on Early Childhood Education in Oxford, EnglandLikewise, Donna has presented this workshop at two NAEYC Annual Conferences. Locally, Donna was named Educator of the Year in 2005 by the Boulder County division of CAEYC. She was selected to represent Education in Leadership Boulder (1994). Donna also served on the board for CAEYC, as well as in many advisory positions for Boulder County .

 

Her educational experience includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Gonzaga University and a Masters of Arts in Education from Regis University.
